One of the worst feelings anyone could ever have is to be a victim of burglary in their homes, the very place they thought they feel safe. This is why many homeowners are turning to security windows and doors because they do not want a random stranger with bad intentions to trespass on their private place and snatch away their most important belongings. Burglars usually steal jewellery, appliances and electronic devices because these are worth a lot of money but it also means that the hard-earned money of the rightful owners is snatched away from them.
In the latest research conducted by Budget Direct Insurance entitled Home Burglary in Australia Statistics 2018, it was revealed that 225,900 burglaries have been reported in all of Australia in 2017. This means that one home burglary is occurring every three minutes. The report also revealed that over 20 per cent of the houses in Australia have been subjected to burglary.
In fact, it was reported that in 2015 Australia bags the fifth spot among countries with the highest number of burglary cases in the entire planet. These numbers are not very comforting which should prompt every homeowner to think about their home security and how effective it is.
From the same report, it was found out that one state in particular has the highest number of reported cases of burglary in all of Australia. According to the report made by Budget Direct in 2017, the state with the highest percentage of burglaries considering its population is the Northern Territory because 5 per cent of the households are experiencing break-ins.
Northern Territory takes home the crown when the population percentage is considered but looking at the numbers will reveal that Victoria has the highest number of burglaries in all of Australia with 65,200 reported cases. Reported cases in Northern Territory are only 3,200. This is a reminder to everyone especially in Victoria to install security windows and doors and to make sure their security system is efficient and operates perfectly in order to avoid being a victim of future burglaries.

For some time now, many people have expressed their concerns regarding fast food restaurants and the lack of nutritional value that the menus often have. However, Leonardo Gonzalez Dellan believes that despite these concerns, fast food restaurants are here to stay.
Not only are people more concerned about nutrition now, but many are also becoming more and more aware of how the nutritional content of their meals impact their health and fitness. Not only are more people working out nowadays, but many are also becoming more conscious of what they consume. Just look at the growing market for meal prep kits with a set amount of calories, or including superfood in one’s diet. Restaurateur Leonardo Gonzalez Dellan says that people can do the same thing for when they visit fast food restaurants.
As Mr. Dellan points out, people do not have to deprive themselves the experience of dining at fast food restaurants if that is what they want. If they are concerned about the nutritional content of the food they eat, they can choose the healthier alternatives that the restaurants have to offer. For example, some fast food restaurants now have healthy sandwiches and salads that use healthier ingredients. The grilled chicken ranch snack wrap, for example, may have less oil than a hamburger, while providing essential nutrients like protein in the form of chicken. Salads are also high in protein and fiber, which is necessary in regular bowel movement.
Some restaurants have also expanded their menu by offering fresh fruit smoothies for those who opt not to drink soda. These smoothies are a healthier alternative, which could also be refreshing and delicious.
More and more restaurants are starting to see the changing trend in the preference of their customers. By listening to what their customers demand— that is healthier alternatives with better nutritional content— restaurants can adjust their menus and offer better choices for consumers. This would not only drive business their way, but also give healthier options to customers. If fast food restaurants can continuously do this, they can definitely stay afloat despite the changing trends and preferences of the market today.
Good news for those looking for the best hotels in Kanchanaburi and across Thailand, as Airbnb has recently entered a partnership with the Thailand Boutique Accommodation Trade Association (TBAA), to add Thailand’s boutique hotels onto Airbnb’s global people-to-people platform, connecting these properties to the company’s international traveller network, which has seen at least 300 million guest arrivals ever since it was founded a decade ago.
The partnership was launched late September of 2018 by Airbnb Country Manager for Southeast Asia, Mike Orgill, alongside TBAA President and Advisor to the Thai Travel Agents Association, SuparerkSoorangura.
According to Orgill, Thailand is one of Airbnb’s largest markets in the Southeast Asia region, and this new partnership with the TBAA marks a significant stepping stone for Airbnb, both as a business and as a community. He explains that boutique hotels play an increasingly important role in driving Thailand’s tourism ecosystem thanks to their authentic host-led hospitality and their distinctly Thai designs.
Orgil says that Airbnb is excited to work with the TBAA to add boutique entrepreneurs onto their platform, as well as connecting them to a growing global audience who crave the experience of authentic, iconic Thai hospitality in an intimate, design-centric environment.
With Thailand as one of the world’s biggest tourism hotspots, this new cooperative will be useful for travelers looking for the best hotels in Kanchanaburi and across Thailand, offering access to at least 50 boutique hotels across 15 provinces throughout the Kingdom, which include Bangkok, Chantaburi, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Kanchaburi, Phuket, Prachuab Kiri Khan, NakhonRatchasima, Ratchaburi and Sukhothai.
The terms of the agreement have both involved parties agreeing to:
- Conduct joint training workshops for the members of the TBAA, with the goal of arming them with knowledge of the Airbnb platform, as well as the necessary digital skills needed for them to create, manage and promote their own listings.
- Promote Thailand’s boutique hotels on the global market.
- Revitalize local neighbourhoods by inviting tourists to places outside of the traditional tourism hotspots.
According to the company, in 2017 alone, Airbnb’s host community in Thailand welcome approximately 1.7 million guests into their houses, which amounted to a total of Bt4 billion (US$119 million) in income for the locals.
More than just Bangkok Japanese restaurants providing cuisine to the Kingdom, Japanese companies are also seeing increasing popularity across Thailand, as well as across the region as the urban populace up their demand for fresh food.
On the outskirts of Bangkok, Japanese logistics firm Nichirei opened a cold-storage centre utilizing their country’ insulation technology, paired with refrigerated trucks. Opened back in 2014, the facility originally handled products like chicken and juice, but has been seeing an increasing demand in foods like dairy as the local tastes shift to be more Western. The President of Nichirei reinforced that notion with a statement that says that changing diets are fuelling increasing demand for refrigerated and frozen transportation.
The facility is run via a partnership with the local conglomerate, the Siam Cement Group, which handles training for complex tasks. Notably, employees are given computational problems on a daily basis in order to develop their skills, and are moved into more demanding positions as they improve.
Siam Cement, which has another joint venture with a Japanese logistics firm, will be adding “online food delivery” to their portfolio, building up on their partnerships for a stable service, according to a director in the company’s distribution segment regarding new developments.
Malaysia and other countries are also seeing Japanese cold-chain services, but notably, there are also some gaining a foothold in Myanmar. The country, considered the region’s last frontier for businesses, saw Sojitz establishing a facility for the handling of wholesale for City Mart Holding, Myanmar’s largest retailer.
The market for goods like dairy and meat products have been seeing an increase throughout Southeast Asia. Projections expect that consumption will go up to a total of $21.1 billion by 2020 among the region’s six largest countries, which would be a marked increase of 140% from 2010.
While exotic cuisine like Bangkok Japanese restaurants are always en vogue, the daily meals have shifted from the traditional marketplaces towards convenience stores and supermarkets. Refrigerated and frozen goods are nor also easier to procure thanks to major distributors offering shipping.
On top of all of this, Southeast Asia’s rapid urbanization has also been underway, which has resulted in the increased demand for the transport of fresh produce from farming villages. Asia’s urban population went up by 30% from 2005 to 2015, and the United Nations is expecting similar growth, projecting a 21% increase by 2025.
